This review is from: C or E Kleinman “Ernie or Cathy Kleinman”Machine works very well. the digital number might say 70% humidity, but a good digital hygrometer says 55 thats 1 problem. Originally we had it hooked up with an el- cheapo black narrow hose with brass fitting from lowes , the bucket filled up very quickly, as the brass hose fitting made a leaky connection to the male threaded plastic fitting in the dehumidifier. I replaced the black plastic hose with a thicker pale green garden hose that had a plastic knurled nut that had to be cut down and modified to fit through the small hole to access the male threaded plastic fitting inside the dehumidifier. this is a small peeve of mine. the green garden hose empties into the drain hole in the basement. The bucket kept filling up, when using the small cheap black plastic hose. Overall the machine works very well so far . We also spent some considerable labour in waterproofing a 28 ft section of concrete basement wall. This brought our humidity down from 75-80% to a reasonable 50. Another peeve is the filter light comes on once a week, even though it looks good , it must be cleaned.

Searched at many different sites and looked at multiple review sites as well. This one seemed to be rated well. 1st day I had to empty the bucket 3 times, then the next day only twice and now only once daily. Haven’t had any difficulties at all after having this for about 1 month. Am planning to add on the hose to the attachment when I get a chance, but emptying the bucket isn’t that big of a deal.

This review is from: Paul I Nichols JrThis is about the fourth different brand of dehumidifier I have purchased over the last 10 or 15 years. Nothing seems to last too long anymore – but this one has a new style of compressor if I remember the ad correctly and it is very quiet. In fact you can’t hear if the compressor is even turning on and off when the fan is on med or high. Bucket has cool sight glass with a floating ball, so you can see the water level, but I switched to hose connection and that works fine also. Fan air direction blows upward, which at first seemed strange, but it does allow unit to be placed against a wall and since it sucks in from the front most likely creates more complete room air circulation. The relative humidity gauge is worthless however, as it is 10% higher than the three others I placed in the room as a double check. They are all withing 5 degrees of each other. Perhaps it’s location is too near the condensing water, thus causing a high reading, but as long as you are aware of it’s inaccuracies and make appropriate adjustments, all is ok. It is either poor engineering of the placement of the sensor or a cheap relative humidity analyzer. You would think that would be one of the most important items on a dehumidifier – an accurate reading of the humidity. All in all, this appears to be the best made, most reasonably priced unit I have bought to date. If it lasts more than 3 years I will be elated. (Well maybe just satisfied – getting elated over a dehumidifier is kind of a sad commentary on my life.)

This review is from: S. Morris (Saginaw, MI United States)The product arrived on schedule and it runs. I am not impressed with it. It is advertised as being able to remove 70 pints a day. In my basement it doesn’t even fill the bucket ( about 24 pints) in a day. My basement seems damp but now I feel the need to buy a humidity meter to test it.
The appearance and footprint of this device is almost identical to a de humidifier I bought several years ago, different brand.. Both made in China. I suspect that they both came form the same factory.
At this price one should get a quality machine even one made in the US.. I am not convinced that it is worth what I paid.
My best advice on this model (and probably by extension the entire company) is beware, be prepared to be disappointed . If the situation improves I will update this review.
Followup June 16, 2010. The device still runs but I am still not impressed. It never has removed as much water as advertised. My basement still feels damp. I don’t want to spent $100 to $200 on a real humidity meter to check what is really happening. Should I need another dehumidifier I will look elsewhere. A dehumidifier is nothing more than a modified refrigerator and it should not be hard to make one.
