Comment: Very pleased with dehumidifier

This review is from: Russell A. Johnson “RAj3Views” (Ohio)I am very pleased with this dehumidifier. It was very easy to unpack and set up. I find that it does an excellent job of removing humidity in my utility room, better than the previous model I had. In addition, it is quite easy to detach the water container and empty it. The fan is a little loud and probably would not be good for use in a room where one was watching TV, etc., but it is ideal for an area like the utility room. Even though this room is right next to my den where I camp out every evening to watch TV, it is not a problem as closing the door eliminates the noise. I have had several dehumidifiers and none seems to last more than a few years, but I am quite pleased with this model and recommend it highly. In one final note, it is attractive as well. The only real drawback is that the dial markings are very hard to read to know where the setting is being placed. I corrected that problem but just making a small mark with a black magic marker over the pointer mark that is on the dial, but nearly impossible to read.

This review is from: Virginia G. Orlowski (Racine, WI United States)This dehumidifier does not have electronic controls. It does not have a two speed fan but a loud one speed. The fan is so loud I can’s hear if my washer or dryer is running. I don’t know how it can be rated energy star. Running continuously it can bring my basement humidity down to 52%, I am using a separate digital humidity gauge. It also does not have a 17 pint bucket. The bucket hold about 6 pints and does not have a pour spout. The hose connects at the side, but if the dehumidifier is on a slant with the hose side higher, (my basement floor is not level) then the water will go into the bucket. It does remove about a pint an hour when on continuous mode, but will turn off in about 6 hours when the bucket is filled. If I move the unit to a level surface the water will go down the hose and out the drain. I don’t know where to set the dial, it seems to need to run continuously.

This review is from: mmabeI received the product before the estimated date and in very good condition. I am using it for ~4 weeks now. we moved into a house last year which was very humid inside. This resulted in a lot of mold forming during the hot season. I was looking for a dehumidifier which was reliable. There were 2 products that I considered- Soleus and frigid air. I finally bought this based on the reviews. Soleus had reliability problems based on all the reviews I read.
Now coming to frigid air:
- I usually do not use it in continuous mode. I switch it on when I feel its getting humid inside. So, its switched on at least 7 hrs a day.
- Till now its been collecting a lot of water every time it runs. Its makes me feel good thinking of all the mold that water could produce. Its a month into spring and I have never had to use the AC. That is pretty good considering how much I used the AC previously. In terms of electricity, I might be saving with no AC.
- Its noisy, but I have can live with it. My honeywell air purifier makes the same amount of noise.
- Its compact, allows you to carry it from room-to-room, something I wanted.I might consider a 5 if it lasts long enough. I might give an update if I can use it next summer.

Comment: Does the Job

This review is from: Murdoc829I bought this dehumidifier to help combat a mold problem in my house, and it’s doing a great job of pulling moisture out of the air. It’s got a big tank, and I have to change it at least once a day (that may say more about the insulation of my house than the dehumidifier, but the point is, it works!). It’s also very easy to empty, and there was no set-up or assembly required. The only drawback is it’s quite loud. I don’t mind “white noise” so it doesn’t particularly bother me, but I do have to turn the TV up (mine’s in my living room), and when I have guests over, I turn it off. But if you don’t mind the noise, I think this is a great buy.
