Comment: Excellent dehumidifier for the price

This review is from: F. Garcia (Rochester, NY)I was looking for a dehumidifier with over 50 pint capacity to replace the one in my basement that died after 8 years (a Kenmore). This one arrived a few days after I ordered it. I set it up within minutes. There were some reports indicating the water bucket was hard to remove but I found it pretty easy. I really like the fact that when it is running it displays the actual measured humidity in the room. There were also reports that it was loud. I use it in my basement (unfinished) so I didn’t care about this. However, I found it to be quieter than my old Kenmore so I was pleasantly surprised.

Comment: Great Energy Star Compliant dehumidifier

This review is from: FuzzyLiftingDrink (Boston, MA)This is a big heavy unit so be aware of that if you will be moving it around a lot. It rolls great on most floors though including concrete, berber carpeting and wood floors without leaving scratches. The carry handle works great and retracts out of sight when not in use. This is probably the best looking dehumidifier I have ever seen and everyone who sees it mentions the looks of the thing before they even know what it is. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and collects water from the air – nice and clean. It is extremly loud on high fan setting so not a great bedroom unit, but it should be fine elsewhere.
It is a bit hard to empty, the “bucket” is actually the front panel (where you see that vertical line near the bottom). That is a water level indicator and when this thing is full it shuts off and a red light indicates its time to empty the water. The bucket does not come out of the machine very easily – it kind of sticks a bit and then gives all of a sudden. Pouring the water out of it is a tad tricky as the entire top is covered in clear plastic with these odd corner openings and the water just kind of gushes out when you tilt it. There is a door like rocker panel that I think was designed to be the exit port, but it does not work all that great.
You do have to leave it upright for an hour before running it for the first time and if it was delivered in a cold region – it needs to reach room temperature or it will not work properly. The digital controls are excellent and the power cord is a decent length, the designers made an attempt at storing the cord on the unit when not in use which works for the most part. Overall, I highly recommend this model even given the slight annoyances at emptying the bucket as it is a great value for a great appliance.

Comment: Very Nice Product

This review is from: Charleston Couple (CHARLESTON, WV, US)Installed quickly in our crawl space. I connected the drain hose to an existing PVC drain line and the unit has dropped our humidity from 80 to 45/50 in a week in a roughly 1500 square foot area. I would rate it @ 5 stars but haven’t ran the unit for long enough to gauge its long term reliability. Thus far it has run more or less continuously with no trouble although think I did see the “change filter” indication a bit earlier than the product specs indicated I would.

This review is from: M. RamNice unit, decent price. The order and shipping process through Amazon was awesome, as always. And even though many purchaasers advised of the (correct) pro’s and cons for this product, this thing is LOUD, LOUD, LOUD! But, it does work well, and generally goes two or three days (in my basement) before needing to be emptied.
